At 1013 on a routine pan, I found a newly arrived animal well out on the left end rock flats of RI. It gave be absolutely nothing so its another U/U.
Once again posse member Bob Ubersax called at 0909 with the report of an animal on Buster Flats, Lanai Lookout. It would prove to be Kaiwi (RK96).
A DigaTxt, from Diane Gabriel, at 1123 advised that she had found La’akea (RK82) at the south end of the Kahuku Golf Course. She also spent quality time with R5AY&PO1.
At 1212 Team Billand called with the report of U’ilani (RN36) at Maili Point. A few minutes later, at 1219, another call advised that Pohaku (RO28) was there also.
I spoke with Tracy this afternoon, and she advises that NOAA personnel had done an exam , Xrays, and took samples on Haupu (RB24). No results are yet available.
Speaking of Haupu, she did begin as a Kauai girl and so fellow volunteers over there are equally concerned about her well being. Mary Miyashiro, on Kauai , sent Barbara a few shots from Yesteryear, “several years ago”, of a young, lithe & frisky Haupu, over there. Thank you Mary !!
In the Yesterday’s News department Lesley forwarded shots from Todd, who encountered what would prove to be KC (RK28) at Pyramid Rock, MCBH yesterday. Mahalos to Lesley & Todd.
