At 0812 posse member Barbara called to advise that an animal was checkin’ out the beach from the shore break fronting the main life guard stand at Sandy Beach. When I got to Sandys at 0817 I found Buster (RV08) lolling in a pool at the east end of Sandy Beach. He did not haul out, but instead began swimming the shore line to the Half Point channel and out. I relocated to Blowhole for an overview and lo and behold found Buster back at BH doing 6 minute dives.
On a routine Sandy Beach recheck at 0951 from Blowhole I saw an animal just hauling out to the Blowhole end of SB. I hurried down and at 0956 confirmed the Buster ID, and cordoned him off. He has remained. Gayle advised that Buster departed at 1752.
Gayle checked in at 1214 to advise of Kaiwi (RK96) at China Walls. The south swell and big waves made the check hazardous to your health, but Gayle’s timing was perfect.
At 0626 Team Billand reported RIP (RR70) & Pohaku (RO28) at Nanakuli Beach Park.
At 0653 they reported M&M (R020) once again fronting #1708 at White Plains.
At 1214 the Billands found Kolohe (RW22) & Nihoa (R912) at Maili Guard Rails.
In the Yesterday’s News department, Ken Tingman did the KP trek yesterday and found RW02. Thanks Ken !
Tracy forwarded shots from Jeff & Cindy Kern, confirming Makaiwi (R4DF) remains on Maui. Thank you J&C !
