1-26-2014 DB's Dailies: RK36@RI, U/U@Makaha, Ewa Girl @ RR, Haupu@KCG, Kermit,RIP,M&M@WP, R5AY&Pup,Kaikaina&RI37@TB

At 0930 I found RK36 at the far left end of the beach on Rabbit Island. He would prove to be the only find today. Marilyn & Melanie combed the usual spots, as did I, but alas ... nobody. Dumping rain in the afternoon made the hunt difficult.

　

Dana called at 0816 with the report of an U/U in Makaha. The animal departed at 0900. Awaiting photos.

　

The Billands checked in at 1056 to advise that Eileen had called with the report of Ewa Girl (RS00) at the birth beach, Reef Runway.

　

At 1105 the Billands reported Haupu (RB24) at Kalaeloa Campgrounds.

　

At 1100 they reported Kermit (R012) at the White Plains showers.

　

At 1125 they advised that RIP (RR70) had hauled out to join him.

　

At 1149 Dana advised that RI37 was reported at "Ola’s" on the hotel beach at Turtle Bay. She also advised that R5AY & Pup were at the birth site, and that Kaikaina (RL54) was close but not too close. Thanks to Karen T for the mom & pup shots. Ken Tingman also sent a selection of pup belly shots. Whaddaya think ????

　

Team Billand reported the arrival of M&M (R020) to #1708 at 1523. There appears to be line coming from her mouth. Hopefully NOAA personnel will provide more info tomorrow.

　

They also advised that Kermit had now moved up on onto the concrete pad at the showers.
