Yesterday was a truly busy, hot day for us old farts.
In photo one: Kerby RW08 at Maili.
He was on his usual spot, on the rocks, snoozing and ok.
Photo 2 and 3 are also Kerby.
NEXT: Photos 4,5,6 are Kermit alone at Nimitz Beach. But on our last check he departed at 4:34pm.
7,8,9 are of Rip and M and M, snoozing at Maili Guard Rails. We were passing, looking for Pohaku, and came across this dynamic duo. They were both in separate ponds, but together...RIP ALWAYS LOVES MISS M and M! She will molt very soon.
10 11 are of Rocky RH58 Ewa Beach. There were no signs, no ropes nor people on this TUESDAY after the THREE DAY WEEKEND!!! What a difference, peaceful for the seals.
Photo 12 is T21M a male seal from NWHI, a relocated seal from 1994. He is in love with Ewa Girl, our legendary female from MIDWAY. She swam here, imagine that!!! She has just finished her molt and T21M found her...WELL SHE IS BEAUTIFUL AND VERY BIG. They spent time together, just chilling at Iroquios. Clay had found them, called and I called NOAA as they were looking for seals to add on the bling.
While Noaa was doing the bling ceremony, T21M was furious, NOAA was doing stuff to his woman. HE fought like a WORRIOR, trying to get to EWA GIRL. We had to ward him off, he was so magnificently handsome and powerful. And very PERSISTANT, going and coming back to free his woman...EWA GIRL. But in the end, he finally left Iroquios and later found by Vera Cober, hiding near the wall at Iroquios, not able to find his girl.
The next photo is of Ewa Girls new tags, 6FE/6FF along with her other older tags, 1AP showing, 1AO..not shown. Sorry, I missed the tag. She is the only seal with that many tags I believe.
After NOAA did their BLING THING, Ewa Girl got up, looked around, barked some, not much, then she gently left Iroquios, S L O W L Y.
She is a beautiful LEGENDARY SEAL we come to respect and love dearly.
Last shot...T21M coming to shore near NOAA team...trying to free his love...Ewa Girl. Man he is powerful...Just so handsome with his natural bleach on his fore head. Maybe he will sniff out Ewa Girl again..I wonder what he'll think seeing all the bling??? I wonder, will he bite at it??? Hmm. I wish we can find them...again...together.
Seven seals found, and also three cute turtles on shore in Makaha.
What a day...lets see what today brings...Here comes the sun, AH...here we go again. Seal ya,
B
