At 0545 I found Irma (R010) , once again snoozin' at Crappy Cove. I restrung the cordon and continued on. She remained the rest of the morning, until posse member Kimo called at 0956 to advise that she was just departing.
I was wishin' & hopin' that she'd go feed for a couple of days, but alas at 1210 posse member June called to say that Irma had hauled out to the east end of Sandy Beach. Most refer to the location as the "Full Point" end of SB, but to we posse people it's "Alices'" since it was the Alice hangout before being exiled to Florida. Irma remained the rest of the day. I picked up the rope at dark. Irma remains.
The Rabbit Island cast for today was the same as recent days. I found a 30% molted Kolohe (RW22) at 0639, then Duke (RA12), at 0916.and finally at 0933 caught Aukai (RL12) just hauling out to the far left end. All would remain the rest of the day.
At 1056 June reported that Buster (RV08) had done a quicky drive by at Lanai Lookout, and finding no Kaiwi, continued on.
Gayle would call at 1420 with the news that she had found Buster RV08) hauled out to "Buster Flats", which is the next flats area, east of Lanai Lookout.
Vera Cober did Mokuleia duty today, and sent cute shots of RL42. Mom was not in the area today.
Diane Gabriel checked in at 1612 to advise that R5AY & Pup where happy and well, just right of the Keiki Pond at Turtle Bay. She saw La'akea (RK82) Turtle Bay side of Kahuku Point, and although she did not see Right Spot (R016), she spoke with Dennis Kunkel who had seen her this morning, and said that she was nearly done with her molt.
I've attached just a sampling of the excellent shots that Zeeny sent, of RL42 and Mom, R912 taken yesterday at the Mokuleia site. The shots show interaction between the two which is interesting.
The Billands checked in with yet another day of no critters in their domain. It's obvious by their shots, that they are going "cold turkey" insane without animals. Just want to thank Barb and Rob for a good laugh.... I needed it today after a long day.... and being miserable with a nasty cold.
