Irma (R010) did yet another overnighter at Sandy Beach. I found her at 0542 and restrung the cordon. She has remained all day. I picked up the rope at dark. Irma remains.
At 0642 I found Kolohe (RW22) nicely rotting up in the Morning Glory, 40 ft left of 1BS on Rabbit Island. His D#8 molt is 70%. He would enter the water at 1007 and haul out to the other end of the beach at Seal Rock Inlet at 1025, where he remained the rest of the day.
As Kolohe hauled out I became aware that there was another animal just out of sight there with him. It would prove to be Duke (RA12) at 1044.
On a pan at 0932 I found that Aukai (RL12) was out on the left end rock flats at RI. She may well have been there all along, but I couldn't see her until the light got just right. She moved to the sand mid morning and remained the rest of the day.
Zeeny called at 1010 to advise that diver Paul had told her Kaiwi (RK96) and Buster (RV08) together at Lanai Lookout. I've only seen photos of Kaiwi, so Buster might have taken off before the posse arrived.
Karen Bryan called at 0705 with the report of an animal at 3 Tables on the North Shore.
Unfortunately, the animal was run off by a man and a dog, before Karen could get an ID, however she did see tags, and a possible scar on the posterior , right side, and got a shot. Karen photos confirm that it was RI37.
Finnnnnally ..... Team Billand found critters !!!! At 0809 the reported M&M (R020), at #1944 White Plains. I think it was Robert's zen pose that brought them the critters.
At 0915 they reported Pohaku (RO28) at Paradise Cove. She departed at 1400.
At 1117 the found RIP (RR70) at Palm Grove, Campbell Industrial Park.
Dera called at 0819 with the report of Rocky (RH58) at the Hale Koa in Waikiki. Rocky remained at dark.
Marilyn did the Ka'ena Point trek and found BG (R303) at 1145 approximately 1/4 mile before the point, and at 1230 found Ka'ena (RO40) at the point. BG was last seen on 8-17-12, and Ka'ena not since 8-25-12.
Marilyn also stopped off to check on RL42 at Mokuleia. She advised that the pup was swimming most of her stay, but did haul out for a snooze at the west end of the enclosure.
Posse member Ken Tingman who also did the KP trek stopped by to see R5AY&Pup on the way up, and pronounced them happy and well.
