11-25-11 DB Dailies

Huge Mahalos are in order for Missus Whisperer for carrying my load today. She , as well as the other Mission Impossible crew, Zeenie, "The Energizer Bunny" Gayle, and Donna were on the Kaiwi Kuest. It was a full day of searhing and finally, at 1610 Gayle found Kaiwi (RK96), at Irma's, 200 ft east of the Kealahou traffic light. We cordoned her off and remained with her until dark when we picked up the rope and left the signs. . I crawled out of bed (barely) with Pumpkin Pie back or something, and could was a bit down and out, but survived the day.

At 0728 we found what would later prove to be Duke (RA12) at the left end of Rabbit Island. He had the place all to himself. I got the ID on my 2nd look at 1144.

Marilyn did the Spitting Cave trek, and at 0816 called to report a weaner with a transmitter . At 0822 came the 2nd call, saying that there were 2 animals. The other would prove to be Kolohe (RW22). His right side natural bleach was clearly visible.

I called Dera , hoping for some high tech assistance on the weaner ID. She called at 0843 to say that according to transmitter data, she was confident that Kekoa (RK72) was in Maunalua Bay, as of 0745, and that Kaiwi (RK96) also appeared to be in the bay, as of last night's reading, however the data points were very poor, so ?????

I crawled down there to join Marilyn. We were later joined by Zeenie and Gayle. After much observation I finally saw Kekoa's belly (and penis), at 1051, though the parallel scratches on his right side mid body, and the lack of natural bleaches associated with Kaiwi were not to be seen, earlier, so it was reasonable certain that it was Kekoa. The belly, was absolute proof.

Team Billand had a bumper crop day, reporting Irma (R010) fronting the Snack Bar at White Plains at 0720. At 0831 they found Kermit (R4DG) at Wind Sock. At 0850 it was Ewa Girl (RS00) at Kalaeloa Campgrounds. Lastly, at 1206 Team Billand reported RO28 at Electric Beach. Clay Gates called the Billands to report a newly arrived Rocky (RH58) at Iroquios Point at 1605.

Kolohe and Kekoa @ Spitting Cave
It always looks they are having so much fun

Kaiwi who finally surfaced late afternoon. Thank goodness for lucky charm Gayle. I had already hit the road, when I got a call from Gayle.. and I quote "turn your ass around"... Oh and despite what she says I was not whining about Kaiwi being a no show for three weeks... I was merely expressing my disappointment.  As wonderful as it was to end the day with Kaiwi, it's always a pleasure to hang out with Gayle and the girls.
So from the looks of this... she moved up away from the shore line
 Great colors mrs. whisperer
