We had a full days work and we did ok. Four seals, in different locations but we managed.
Now, Kermit's tag reads, 4DG, his 4DH is missing.
Ewa Girls tags read 1AP/1AO, cant read the S00 any more. Isnt she a lovely lady, spent all day at Kalaeloa.
The Dog: We saw the owners with the dog earlier and the dog stayed with them, away from Kermit. BUT..when we were at Kalaeloa, we could see the dog roaming loose. We went back to advise the owners, but, too late, the dog pooped right as we arrived AT THE SIGNS!! Tsk. Tsk. This goes on at the Windsock area, The nimitz site and Kalaeloa every day all day. Most owners are good, keeping dogs on leash. But then you got those that think they got the most obedient animal on earth and let em roam. Some go right up to the seal, as we are standing there giving an education to OTHERS. I wish we could put out PERMANENT signs out at these sites, with the fine of $300. I wish we could have permanent signs up at sites, KEEP AWAY FROM MONK SEALS..VIOLATORS WILL BE FINED OR JAILED!!!!!! I been asking this forever!!! Even Base Police been asking.However, nothing is happening so far. Dogs and cats are a problem, all the time.
Kermit is a great seal, just chilling where ever he lands. He also remained all day.
Miss Irma remained at her Plains location till, 5:13pm, she had a good crowd around her...plus boogie boards, swimmers in front of her at times.
R028 was looking pretty at Electric Beach..just chilling, all by herself...on the rocks.
Miss Ewa Girl had fishermen, who were respectful and let her be all day also. She is looking mighty fat again...who da daddy this time??? Rip, who we saw courting her while nursing, Kekoa Alii. Then there was T21M who visited her several times too. Hmmmm...we'll see. Where's the DNA FOLKS...Hint hint, Jen SHultz??
And our prayers to DB with a Back Ache...take care seal whisperer!!! There is ONLY ONE DB....we need ya. DA SEALS NEED YA!!!
Sorry Barb, my fat fingers, I knew Kermit was 4DG, and I couldn't read the last letter on Ewa girls tag. Although I do remember seeing it one of the days at Reef Runway and it confused me!
I do think Ewa Girl is a noble lady... I think of her as the Matriarch of the Oahu group.
