11-20-11 DB Dailies and More

We were on the road at 0600, but initially found nobody. Dera called as she has these past 3 mornings with transmitter data on both Kaiwi and Kekoa. This morning she reported that as of last night at 2100 Kaiwi was back in the AD area, and that Kekoa was once again in the SE quadrant, in the Hanauma Bay area. I can not overstate how much I and my fellow "field weenies" appreciate the realistic use of the transmitter data to give us some idea were to begin looking. Obviously, the data has been there as long as there have been transmitters, but the last 3 days is the first meaningful use, from our point of view, of the transmitter info. Thank You Dera !!!!!  DB did you check Hanauma Bay for Kekoa?

Kaiwi remained at Crappy Cove when darkness arrived. She was once again tucked into her Naupaka. Armed with Dera's info we undertook yet another search of the area, and at 0754 found the last few inches of Kaiwi's butt hangin' out of her favorite Naupaka bush on the east side of Crappy Cove, Sandy Beach. She would do a mid morning water session , remaining the near shore waters, and hauling out again to her starting point.

On the 0823, Spitting Cave check we found Kolohe (RW22) and Duke (RA12) playing and foraging (mostly playing),to the right of the big rock.

I got back to Makai Pier at 1100. At 1151, on a pan, I found Nani (1212) just hauling out fronting Left Greenery on Rabbit Island. She would galumph 100 ft left to the Morning Glory, 30 ft left of 1BS, where she spent the rest of the day. So happy to hear Nani is back... especially after yesterdays news of a net close by. This little girl has been exploring quite a bit so, its always good when she checks in.

Team Billand called at 0740 to report finding Ewa Girl (RS00) at Kalaeloa Campgrounds.

A bit later they reported Irma (R010) still in Ewa Beach. Email from posse member Toni Russ also confirmed that Irma had overnighted. Barbara called her molt at 85%.

At 1315 Team Billand advised they posse member Clay Gates had called them reporting Rocky (RH58) at Iroquois Point.

Dana checked in at 1320 with the report of an U/U at Malaekahana. Awaiting further info.

Dana called again at 1345 to report La'akea at Turtle Bay.
