5-7-11 DB Dailies

On my first look at Rabbit Island at 0649 I found Duke (RA12) up in the Morning Glory behind Seal Rock Inlet. It was one of those perfect, cool, damp, gray Monk Seal kinda' day. There was absolutely no reason to move a flipper... so he didn't.   While on the subject of Duke. Happy Birthday kiddo !! He turns 2 today !!

On our 0746 Spitting Cave check we found Kolohe in some pretty wild and wooly conditions, but he was just cruisin', doing 4-6 minute dives.
Team Billand checked in at 0849 with the report of Pohaku (RO28) at Tracks.  At 0936 they found Max (R5EW) on his first visit to Wind Sock, Kalaeloa Beach.  At 1001 the reported Makaiwi (R4DF) on D#10 of her stay at Nimitz Cottages, fronting #1704.   Team Billand checked in amidst the lightning, thunder and rain to report finding Kermit (R4DG) and M&M (R020) snoozin' together at Palm Grove, Campbell Industrial Park, at 1359.

Dana checked in at 1645 saying that she was on the North Shore with N6 (Right Spot), and N29 (RI37), both at Sunset Beach, but in separate locations.

Kolohe @ Spitting Cave
Happy 2nd Birthday Duke
 Max @ Windsock
 Pohaku @ Tracks

Have to give credit to Kelly Evans for going to OAT at Turtle Bay in the AM and staying until well after 5:00PM on Saturday with Right Spot and RI37. I merely checked in, spoke to Lifeguards, met with Jeanne Martinson, and dispersed some signs. Kelly did the hard stuff, but we really did need absolute positive ID as there had been doubts as to a 3rd animal. Still not sure who that was.

No problem, anything for the seals. The more people that don't want to listen or follow the rules, as far as bothering the seals, the longer I will stay. It drives me with passion! One of these days I'm gonna end up staying as long as the seal does even if it over night! Love to all, kelly girl
