6/7/2010 The Makaha Princess Adventure

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all those involved today. Although it started off as a report of a seal caught in a net... and ended up being an abandon net (which probably had some nibblers earlier)... anyway I want to point out how well this team worked today... This is how it should be and hopefully a model for the future.  Today's call involved HMSRTO volunteers, DOCARE, and the community. ( A very special mahalo to William Aila)....   Thank you one and all ... Dana you done good woman!

Just want to say, William Aila, he da man!!! It took DNLR hours to reach the site. Mr. Aila came, put gear on, went out to net, all by himself, found the net, put a yellow marker out. We could clearly see the marker from shore. DNLR came so late, Aila took net to them, DNLR removed net that AILA found..and all was well again. Thanks to William Aila. And Mr. D. Kiawe of DNLR, spotted the net with a scope, waited all those HOURS for the boat to arrive. So glad no seals were ever seen in the net. Happy endings are GREAT!!!
