Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:58 to 3:19 pm, there were six seals seen during that time.
When Marilyn started viewing RM26 Nohea and PO10 were snoozing on the shoreline about 30 feet Lanikai from the 1BS. Then entered the water for an extended swim from 2:05 and 2:50 pm. They then hauled out and the pup nursed before they had another snooze. Both mom and pup are doing well.
In the Middle Cliff area, weaner RV50 (PO3) was snoozing among the rocks. Later she moved up the beach and later had a major snooze next to rocks with Noddy Terns watching over her.
Around 1:22 pm the two other weaners had hauled out from the LPB channel. RV70 (PO5) and RV68 (PO4) snoozed and moved around a short distance. Both seem to be doing fine.
At 2:07 pm Marilyn saw that a Sub-adult Unknown had hauled out near the RRB channel. The SU had a darker coat. Marilyn did not see tags, but they could be there. The SU moved around some, but then was gone by 2:38 pm.
Team R&B started the day by searching beaches on the west side. Their first find was RU12 back and this time on the rocks at the zen area. RU12 was alone.
Next they were surprised to finally find Miss Kala RH76. She was resting alone on the rocks. Her applied bleach "7" was visible. Team R&B didn't stay long, as they didn't want to attract any attention to her.
From afar they spotted the little green seal RU22 alone on shore. They noted that her ribs are visible, she's really tiny.
Team R&B finally made their way to Rocky's site. There were lots of people out viewing the seals and people were being good. PO11 had an adventure, going out away from Mom to the rocks and more. Team R&B were getting anxious watching the pup getting into the rocks. At one point you sense the pup was excited and very curious. Meanwhile Momma Rocky was fast a sleep. The waves got bigger, sucking the pup further away from mom. PO11 stuck its nose into the rocks, biting at the algae.
Another big wave sucked the pup farther away, another wave shoved the pup near mom, who woke up and started barking.
Pup got sucked out again, Rocky was not happy and galumphed towards the pup with mouth wide open. This kept going on, waves taking the pup for a ride. PO11 is just 4 days old and feisty.
Then Momma Rocky gave a really loud Bahhhhhhhhh!!! PO22 came right in and kissed mom. Both galumphed higher up for a feed.
Team R&B called it a day after being emotionally exhausted. Good heavens Rocky is a good experienced momma.
