Guess who was at the outfall first thing this morning? Yup, Ka'ale RH32 arrived, went to the mid area, and then just left. (smart kid). Next stop, Team Billand headed to the Leeward Beach and spotted him there resting. Upon their recheck he was still there.
Team Billand's next find was Kekoa Alii RK72 at a different beach. He was way in on the rocks, resting alone. When they did their recheck he was still there, but then was washed off by the rising tide.
Next on their trek they found the beautiful little miss Lei Ola RH48. She was high up on the rocks, completely dry. On the next check she got washed off with a large wave, but she stuck it out and remained. This is one very determined, strong little female.
Even thought today was hot, Barbara took a chance and went out to Ka'ena West since the females have weaned the pups. She didn't find either one but did find two males.
First RIP RR70 was at the 20 minute mark in a small tide pool snoozing. She was able to ID him by his tags, scar over his left eye and ding on his back. He was still there on her way out.
Then at the 30 minute marker, there was da Benny RE74. Hw was in a pond completely submerged with his flipper out. He was in a good spot in that he was very hard to see. Benny is looking healthy, robust and was resting quite comfortably.
Melody went out to see cousins PO4 and PO5 today. They put on a good show for her, she watched them swim today in the tide pool and then hauling out on shore to play for a bit. She was there from about 9 am to 1 pm (I hope she had lots of sun block).
Okay in yesterday's news, PO3 (Kaiwi's pup) got his bling yesterday. He is tagged with RK24/25 and he is very chubby. SO out of 6 pups we have 1 still nursing, 5 weaners, and 3 tagged kids.
And LAST but not LEAST....... HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY KAWENA RH36/37 born to Kaiwi 2016.
