This morning at 5:10 am they spotted RO28 Pohaku in the darkeness. Signs were placed and the hotline was called a few times. At 6:51 am another seal hauls in with Pohaku and it's da Benny RE74.
Benny arrived as he was on a mission, bobbing his head up and down sniffing the air, came up to Pohaku who gave him a snort and a whoop. He entered the water, still keeping an eye on her, perhaps wanting her to follow. At 8:03 am Benny darted to the right of the lagoon, heading towards some snorklers who quickly got out of the water. He then headed out to sea going in a westerly direction.
Team Billand left at 8:30 and informed the hotline. At 10:30 am they returned to check on Pohaku, she was in a different spot and a volunteer was on site setting up a new zone.
The big find of the day and I am sure to Barbara's joy and relief was Ka'ale RH32. He's been MIA for a bit but he's back and really really green, he makes Holokai look pale! He hasn't begun his molt but he sure is ready. They left him and good news there wasn't anyone around to bother him.
Their last stop of the day brought them another surprise. They stopped at Maili and found da Benny alone inland on the high rocks. He certainly one of the more charismatic of our critters.
