At 6:15 am Team Billand found Pohaku RO28 at Secrets. Upon their arrival the parking lot was already full. Pohaku was sleeping by "her" naupaka bush, they erected a zone around her. As soon as they were done the guests start to arrive, they call the hotline and left a message. Team Billand did much outreach, while noise coming from the events, families taking photos around her, the arrival of a canoe looking for her. They certainly had their hands full.
At 10:30, they left the area to go search for other seals. no word if any volunteers were on site.
Team Billand's next find was da boyz, RIP RR70 and Benny RE74 at Maili. They were far apart from each other; RIP was in his water hole asleep and Benny was snoozing where Lei Ola was yesterday.
Their afternoon check Benny was gone, RIP was out of his water hole. While there Benny arrived cautiously approaching RIP who immediately responded with a bark. Benny went left around the rocks in a lava tube and out on the rocks and was gone, RIP remains.
At 2:24 pm Team Billand found RL42 at Makua Cliffs. She was alone snoozing on the rocks below the cliffs. It's been a while since she was seen, she's fat, healthy, no new marks and no hooks :-)
Marilyn and Lesley did the Ka'ena Point hike from the Mokuleia side. Their only find was Ka'ena RO40 in the middle of the main pool.
He was ID'd by his dorsal put scar and N9 bleach on right shoulder and his chest scar. They saw multiple wallows at 10 minute beach and a recent trail on Back Beach, but no critters.
Posse Pal Gayle saw one critter on Rabbit Island and Right Spot at Kaupo Beach.
