The only action in the SE quadrant today began at 0729 with a call from Hanauma Bay Ranger posse person, Ann reporting 3 swimming heads, 15 ft off shore of the HB beach front moving east to west. When I got there at 0746 I saw the three at the far right end, just beginning to move out toward th Witches Brew area on the right side of HB. I lost them at 0800. Despite multiple checks of all SE quadrant spots by Gayle and myself, and with TBL help from Jack (at the bay), we were never able to see the 3, nor anyone else today in the SE quadrant. Rabbit Island was also Monk Seal free.
Colleen called at 0732 to advise that Rocky (RH58) had overnighted at Diamond Head, but she had just departed.
At 0742 Team Billand reported M&M (R020) at Tower #1, White Plains.
At 0952 the Billands reported Kermit (R012) fronting the #1813 pavilion, Nimitz Cottages. He would depart at 1822.
At 1027 Team Billand called to advise that Pohaku (RO28) had been at Makaha but was said to have been run off after a surfer walking by her, hit her with his surfboard. Sounds like a really great guy .
Also at 1027 the Billands advised that Haupu (RB24) was at Wind Sock.
Kimo Smith checked in from Ka’ena Point again today. He reported finding Luana at the Mokuleia , birth beach, and Ka’ena (RO40, Kerby(RW08) & RL42 at Ka’ena’s pool, with RW02 at the main pool, and BG(R303) was back at BG’s pool to the right of Ka’ena’s pool. BG had last been seen on 1-18-14. Luana seems to have a new nose wound.
Diane G. sent shots from her shift with R5AY&Meli, and spent time with RI37 on the hotel beach at Turtle Bay.
