As we all know it was a dank and soggy day out there. Perfect for a Monk Seal, less perfect for us guys. At 0800 I found what would prove to be Kekoa (RK72) at Rabbit Island. I would finally get the ID at 1604.
At 0828 I found Buster (RV08) doing 5 minute dives off shore of the Lanai Lookout Cove. Divers entered the water at 0922 and a couple of minutes later I saw one surface at Buster’s location. The guy went back down and shortly thereafter Buster began a leisure swim toward the east. I did not see him again today, Nor did Marilyn or Gayle who were out and about today. I thank them from the bottom of my little, bald heart.
At 1446 I got a call from a fisherman posse member reporting the arrival of an animal to Irma’s Grotto, Kokee Flats at approximately 1430. Marilyn responded and confirmed the Rocky (RH58) ID at 1530.
At 0645 Team Billand reported Ewa Girl (RS00), overnighted at Wind Sock.
At 0809 the reported the arrival of Haupu (RB24) fronting the Snack Shack, White Plains. She would depart at 1640.
At 0847 they found Kermit (R012) foraging off the Nimitz Jetty area. He would finally haul out fronting #1813, Nimitz Cottages at 1301. He would depart at 1623.
At 1103 the Billands reported the arrival of M&M (R020) between Tower#1 and the fence line at WP.
Diane Gabriel provided a report and photos from her shift at Turtle Bay today. She had R5AY & Meli, as well as La’akea (RK82) all in the SPZ at TB
