The Rabbit Island cast was Ewa Girl & child, at 2BS, along with Sadie and R301 at 3BS. I'd seen RIP at Spitting Cave in the morning, but at 1422 he hauled out to join Sadie and R301 at 3BS.
Tracy called to report that Irma was at Diamond Head (Cromwell's) today. Colleen Heyer reported at 1810 and Irma was still there.
The Billands made the Ka'ena Point trek and reported Ka'ena at the point and T15M near the trailhead on the Yoke's side.
The real highlight of the day was provided by Ewa Girl & pup. Until 1420 it was just a routine day at 2BS, a little eatin', a little snoozin', and a couple of water sessions in the shallows. With the high tide Ewa Girl entered the water with pup right behind, and for the first time , moved outside the semi-protected area into deep water. She then began moving to the left. A little over 1 hour later they hauled out 80 ft, left of 1BS. This marks their first observed deep water swim session, and the first observed change of location from the birth spot at 2BS. It was an exciting afternoon for me and the kid !
