3-3-2013 DB's Dailies: RA36@HB, Aukai@RI, Kaiwi&Kolohe@SC, Kaiwi&Buster@ LL, Makaiwi&RIP@WP, 2AW@NIM, M&M@NIM, Kekoa@RR, R018@Trks

At 0652, Ann at Hanauma Bay called with the report of a small animal at the east end of the beach. When I arrived at 0653 I found RA36 snuggled up against rocks at the far left end of the beach. I cordoned him off and he remained all day. We picked up the stuff at HB closing time (1800). RA36 remains.

Jack "At the Bay" (in an attempt to perpetuate the myth that he is a nice guy) requested that I heap monster kudos on our own Kimo Smith and HB's Uncle Bill, for their invaluable assistance to Jack in dealing with RA36's adoring hordes. Ya' Done Good.... all of you (Jack really is a nice guy).

At 0729 Kimo called with the report of Kaiwi (RK96) doing 5 minute dives at Spitting Cave. He would call again at 0845 to advise that Kolohe (RW22) had now joined her. Kimo called at 0910 to advise that both seemed to have departed. Kolohe would however return, according to Zeeny & Patrick at 1102.
At 0827 I found Aukai (RL12) snoozin' in her cave at the right end of the beach on Rabbit Island. He would move down at 1257, and remained all day.

At 1102 Z & Patrick reported Kaiwi & Buster (RV08) together at Lanai Lookout. They would report in again at 1202 to advise that they were now foraging just east of LL. Another call at 1513 advised that they were back to the usual perch at LL, and in snooze mode.

At 0800 Team Billand checked in with the report of Makaiwi (R4DF) at #1708, White Plains.

At 0807 Cianna called with the report of an animal at Nimitz Beach. Team Billand called at 0923 to confirm that it was 2AW, west of the jetty, between Kermit's Reef and the 1st bunker.

At 0820 the Billands reported RIP (RR70) at #1707, WP.

From 1112 until 1620 Team Billands was involved with a dead baby Humpback on the reef behind Waianae High School , along with DOCARE Officer Keawe, and William Aila. The animal was pulled off the reef at 1430, and taken to Waianae Boat Harbor where it was taken away at 1620. Hopefully, Barbara will comment further on her day. There was a dolphin stranding in Kailua while this was happening. All I can say is the folks at HPU are putting in a very long long night!!!

Cianna called at 1153 reporting that Eileen had called with word of Kekoa (RK72) at the Reef Runway.

At 1600 I got a tag shot from Cianna, documenting R018 at Tracks today.
