5-26-2012 DB Dailies: Irma@KK, Duke@RI, Kaiwi@SC, Kerby&RIP@Maili Pt, Benny&RO28@PC, R5AY@Hauula, Ka'ena@KP, Right Spot@Rocky Pt, RI37 Laniakea

I was on the road as usual, bright and early, but EG&Buster had moved on and it would be 0757 before I encountered my first critter.

At 0757 I found Irma (R010) , mostly submerged in the tide pool at Irma's Grotto, Kokee Flats, Portlock. Her N3 bleach was barely visible at the water line. Gayle called at 1720 with the report of an animal at SC. Though she never showed me her right side, I'd put a cat on Irma, but ?????

At 0919 I found Duke (RA12) at Left Point Beach, Rabbit Island. Fortunately, his transmitter was immediately visible. He would relocate to Seal Rock Inlet at 1114, where he spent the rest of the day . He had the place all to himself.

Posse member Kimo called at 1123 with the report of Kaiwi (RK96) at the ladder, at Spitting Cave. She was doing 6-7 minute dives. Kimo called at 1407 to say that he was leaving, and that Kaiwi was still there.
Team Billand checked in at 0616 with the report of Kerby (RW08) at Maili Point.

At around 1300, RIP (RR70) arrived to Kerby's location. After some words Kerby left, and later RIP would depart.

At 0639 the Billands found 2AW at Electric Beach.

At 0819 the Billands advised that they were responding to an call of an animal at Paradise Cove, KoOlina. When they arrived at 0847 the animal was gone. Witnesses described RO28. She had been run off by people getting to close to her.

At 0938 Team Billand called to report Benny (RE74) just hauling out to Paradise Cove.

Dana called at 1003 to report R5AY at Hauula Beach Park.

Missus Whisperer (Marilyn), and Lesley did the Ka'ena Point trek, and found only Ka'ena (RO40) at the end of the world. Vera called in the afternoon to report they she too had seen only Ka'ena .

At 1101 Dana called with the report of Right Spot (R016) at Rocky Point.

At 1129 Dana reported RI37 between Laniakea and Chun's on the North Shore. Others may have responded, but I am only aware of Marilyn and Lesley reporting in at 1353. Marilyn said she was in a difficult location to access, but it's nice to know that she is back from her Kauai adventure.

The Billands called at 1554 to advise that they had found Pohaku (R028) at Banyan Tree Beach, KoOlina. Witnesses said she had been there since 1100.
