Aloha good people....
This photo was sent in from Kailua Sailboard and Kayak.... on Wednesday. I do know from one of the other guides from Twogood Kayak there was a seal out there on Tuesday too... I was hoping for a photo but it didn't come through on Tuesday.

this is going to be a hard one since the picture isn't very clear.... but if anyone can do it the Seal Whisperer will know.... okay DB watcha think?

10/29/2014 DB's Dailies: Kea&Buster@SB, Duke&Kolohe@RI, Haupu@WP

At 0600 I found an overnighted Kea (RN46). He would move down and enter the water at 0637, swimming off to the west. On my 0947 recheck I found him back on the outfall, where he has remained the rest of the day. He remained at dark.

At 1010 Buster (RV08) stopped by for a brief visit. He did not see Kea , who was in a slightly different part of the outfall than usual. Buster did not haul out but checked the area, before departing to the west at 1013. Despite lotsa’ lookin’ I have not seen him again today.

On my first look at Rabbit Island I found Duke (RA12) at the left end. Access to the pier was limited today, since Hawaii 5-0 owned it until noon. When I got back at 1150 I found that Kolohe (RW22) was now at the left end with Duke.

At 0850 Team Billand reported Haupu (RB24) near the fence line at White Plains. Tracy & Angie went out today, to administer antibiotics to Haupu because of some puncture wound that were noted by the Billands a few days again. Haupu departed after the procedure, at 1013.

10/29/2014 Lesley's Windward and Mokuleia Trek

Today I went out solo to monitor Windward side, Marconi Rd, High Rock, TBR, Kaihalulu Beach, Hanaka’Ilio (2^nd Beach) then I drove to Mokuleia to check Camp Erdman and Birth Beach Mokuleia.

Due to a strong downpour I chose not to hike to the point.

I was SUNKED on the Windward side. It was early and the tide was very high. Specially at High Rock / Kahuku (my first stop). The second stop was TBR where the waves of the high surf were already rolling in. No seals or hauling out signs on the beaches

The drive to Mokuleia was under on and off downpours.

I found RW02 "Kauai PV" overnighted on birth Beach side of Camp Erdman. He's looking good in his new coat but seems to be liking to haul out in the same location even having finished his molt a week ago.

RN58 "Luana" also seems to have overnighted on Birth Beach. She may have started her molt around her eyes. I wasn't able to see her belly. The one chance I had was when she moved from side to side, but she did it facing a rock. Aloha, Lesley

10/28/2014 DB's Dailies: Duke,Kolohe&U/U@RI, Kaiwi@CW, Kea@SB, Rocky@DH,Haupu@WP, Pohaku@CIP

At 0600 I found an overnighted Kea (RN46) in the Naupaka at the Sandy Beach . On subsequent checks he would move down amongst the water front rocks, and was still there on my 1600 recheck. His molt continues. Gayle reported he was still there at dark.

At 0723 I found Duke (RA12) at the left end rocks, Kolohe (RW22)moving down to the left end, and an U/U at Right Middle Cliff, which I was never able to ID.

At 1136 Gayle reported Kaiwi (RK96) at China Walls.

A 0713 text from Lesley advised that she had been with T990 at Aina Haina since sunrise. He departed at 0640.

At 0900 The Billands reported a foraging Pohaku (RO28) at Campbell Industrial Park. She would eventually haul out but was gone on their 1400 recheck.

At 1103 Team Billand found Haupu (RB24) at the fence line, White Plains. She would depart at 1631.

At 1406 I got a voice mail from posse member Darcy reporting an animal just hauling out at Diamond Head. When I contacted Dana she was already aware, and advised that Melanie was responding. Melanie checked in at 1451 with the confirmed Rocky (RH58) ID.

A Lesley email at 1652 advised that Kimo was checking on an animal fronting his place at Mokuleia. Awaiting further word.

In Yesterday’s News, Kimo Smith sent shots from his KP trek . He reported Ka’ena (RO40)&BG(R303) at the point, RIP (RR70) on the Waianae side trail, Luana (RN58) at Mokuleia, and RW02& Bad Guy at Camp Erdman.
