September 21, 2026 Monday's Dailies

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:55 to 3:07 pm and there were six seals seen during that time.

On the Lanikai side of LPB were two seals:

Juvenile Male: juvenile size, light male belly and two red tags, and

Sub-adult Female: sub-adult size, old coat with lots of green, female belly unsure about tags.

Alone in the middle of LPB was RV50 : small weaner size, lightfemale belly, no info on tags, applied N81 bleach.

Nearer to the 1BS were two seals:

RV76: large weaner size, light female belly, and two red tags, and

Weaner Unknown: smaller weaner size. coat with some brown, and possible male belly. Later the WU started down the beach followed by RV76.

Near the SRI was a Sub-adult Female 2: sub-adult to adult size, old coat with lots of green, tow red tags.

Team R&B checked out one of the west side areas looking around and didn't see anything. They went around to the other side, nothing. They came back 30 minutes later to the same side and lo and behold there were two seals. Seem Miss Kala RH76 and R617 are an item, spending several days together.

Over at rest camp they found RP28 Wakea. He was alone and had a zone set up for him by the lifeguards.

Continuing on the west side they found Lefty RG28. He was alone and resting. Team R&B noted the area smells of human waste..... such a shame.

From afar they could see two seals in the water fighting at tracks. There were also people in the water. One of the seals hauled out alone, big adult.

At Kahe they saw RL20 Kalua passing by. He was going in KoOlina direction.

They made it over to plains and finally there was a seal on shore. It's been a minute but today R407 Kawika was there alone.

Team R&B went back to check on the seal. When they arrived they weren't happy to see so many people and dogs out and about around

the seal. The seal was an adult male, had tags but they couldn't read them.

Lastly from afar they spotted a seal, in an area they tried to get to earlier. They couldn't tell if it was male or female, it had two red tags and looks ready to molt.

Starting their day on the west side they spotted a seal foraging The seal had dark eyes and green coat. They weren't sure about tags but they feel confident this is Kai RM31. He is looking great and quite handsome.

While observing Kai they noticed a poor turtle with several tumors. They also watching a boobie fishing.

Once again they saw the cute sub-adult foraging close to the jetty on

the rest camp side. The little buggah wouldn't show them enough to make an ID. It was sub-adult size and clean coat. It like to hang out by the jetty where people fish and surf.

Team R&B had spent a good amount of time checking around for R617 and RH76. On an additional check they watched as the waves got really big suddenly. Lifeguards posted a sign brown water warning. The waves were so strong they shot up the shore and there were rocks flying on the wall. They got word of two seals there

earlier. Then there they were R617 and RH76 Kala. He was trying so hard to get closer to her and she wasn't happy about it.

Over at the outfall they spotted an adult seal foraging. They were not able to get a clean photo for an ID so it was reported as an Unknown Adult.

From afar they were scanning the nearby beaches and saw a seal haul out. It was big, they tried to determine who it was, but couldn't. There were people going up to the seal, a couple of dogs loose, not a good

scenario.

They ended their day with yet another Unknown at kahe. The seal swim slowing by heading in the KoOlina direction. They couldn't get enough information for an ID. Needless to say they were frustrated. The good news they had a busy seal day. And they saw a very cute dog.
