Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:30 to 2:00 pm and there were four seals and two humans seen during that time.
Just near the waterfront rocks between Middle Cliff and 3BS was Adult Male 1: smaller adult size, newer dark coat, dark gray male belly, unsure about tags.
Between 3BS and SRI were two seals:
A short distance away was Adult Male 3: adult size, older coat, brown male belly, not sure about tags.
At SRI was Sub-adult Male: sub-adult to small adult size, newer gray coat, light male belly and two red tags. This could be RK24, but it seemed smaller and a lighter belly.
A pair on a kayak landed on the island between 1BS and 2BS. They were care not to get too close to the seals, but they did wander to the Lanikai side of the island. As they were leaving the island, they saw a lifeguard on a jet-ski. Marilyn believes he explained to them that they shouldn't be on the island.
Team R&B started their day at pokai. They kept seeing a seal foraging off the rocks. They didn't stay for very long to make an ID, but did take good enough photos to determine who it was. There was RH48 Lei Ola with her green snout.
She was pigging out on something good, she kept coming up and going back down fast. It was too dark to determine if there was a school of fish, or just scraps from the boats..
Next they headed over to yoks and found Mr. Wakea RP28 alone and sleeping. He was high up on shore due to the high surf. Team R&B made another stick zone for him.
Just as they finished a woman walked towards the seal. They called out to her and she seemed surprised, but just kept going passing RP28.
The lifeguard also passed the area on his quad, going pretty fast. A wave had hit Wakea which made him go even higher up on shore. Team R&B hung around for an hour, hoping to see another seal or two, but RP28 was the only one.
Lastly they headed back to pokai where they saw a woman taking photos on shore. So they went to check it out, it wasn't a seal. It was a beautiful green turtle that had just landed.
