Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:36 to 2:26 pm and there were six seals seen during that time.
Moving around on LPB was an Unknown Juvenile: larger juvenile to smaller sub-adult size, two red tags, unsure of its sex. This is the same seal Marilyn has seen in this general location for several days.
Down from 1BS was Adult Male 1: adult size, about 45% molted, male belly. dorsal old brown coat with pit scar mid-dorsal. Did not see tags.
Adult Female: large adult size, two red tags, tan female belly and lower neck/upper chest scar.
A short distance in the Makapuu direction was Adult Male 2: adult size, new coat, gray male belly and two red tags.
Near 2BS was Adult Male 3: adult size, new coat, light gray male belly, line scar on lower lip, not sure about tags.
Up from SRI was was an Unknown Sub-adult: sub-adult size, tan ventral, unsure about sex or tags.
Team R&B started out at Kahe not finding any seals, so they watched the dolphins. Then there was a woman who called out to them Seal !! In the water the seal was an adult with two red tags, scar on the right side of face and head. They were happy to ID RL12 Aukai. She was in a hurry, but held her head above the water as if she was looking out for something. Maybe looking for the males trying to escape from them.
Next they spotted a seal from afar. It was an adult snoozing on shorealone at tracks. They had an appointment so they couldn't check it out. By the time they were able to go the seal was gone.
Team R&B headed back to Kahe to recheck the area. They found two males on the rocks. Kai RM31 and Kalua RL20 were snoozing together.
Lastly they saw a seal on shore at yoks from afar. There were two women close to the seal. So they headed over and found RG28 Lefty resting on shore, back at his spot. He is still hooked with the line trailing. The women were there with him and thankfully were respectful.
