6-26-2014 DB's Dailies: Buster@SB, Kaiwi@KK, Kea@BH, Kolohe@Maili Pt, RIP&Benny@WP, Benny@KCG&WSK

I was batting zero in the SE quadrant until 1013. While hangin’ out at Blowhole waiting for the 1000 Buster, Sandy Beach haul out, I spied the telltale sign of a critter in the near shore waters of Sandy Beach, at 1013, When I got to the east end of Sandy Beach at 1018 I found Buster (RV08) bellowing in the shore break. He would haul out at 1025 to his usual east end spot. I cordoned him off and he has remained. Gayle called to advise that Buster had departed at 1724.

At 1050 Gayle Matsuda called to advise that she was with Kaiwi (RK96) at Irma’s Grotto, Kokee Flats, Portlock.

That was to be our SE quadrant cast for today. Despite lotsa’ lookin’ Rabbit Island was birds, birds, birds.

Dana called at 1718 with a report of Kea at Blowhole. When we arrived at 1733 we confirmed the Kea (RN46) ID. Kea had last been seen on 6-13-14 at Crappy Cove. (13 days)

Team Billand reported Kolohe (RW22) at Maili Point at 0658.

At 0800 they reported RIP (RR70) cruisin’ the White Plains beach front. He would haul out fronting #1708 at 0810. He would depart with the arrival of Benny, at 0919, only haul out again fronting #1707 at 1000. Diane T would report his departure at 1200. Benny showed up at White Plains at 0919. He and RIP had words and RIP would depart. Benny would also depart at 0947, headed west.

At 1033 Team Billand reported him hauling out to Kalaeloa Campgrounds. Unfortunately, he would be run off TWICE by the same German Shepard, the last departure at 1127. He would haul out again to Wind Sock at 1141. Benny departed at 1506.
