10-9-2012 RK36 visits the Mokes

Aloha Good People! 

I want to give a shout out to the Kailua Sailboard & Kayak folks! Today one of the guides called in about a seal on the Mokes.... although she could get a shot of the tags or was able to confirm the tags... she did see this critter was wired with WIFI.  Thank you Ka'iu Manuwai-Oiph for being a good monk seal partner and sneding in the awesome photo.

Now the interesting story: RK36 is the Kauai seal (known as Kolohe on Kauai) that had swallowed a fish hook back during the summer. He was brought to Oahu and had surgery to remove the line.... all went well and he was returned to Kauai. He's obviously doing well since he's back on Oahu checking out the females!  Very cool, and just shows all that hard work paid off.
