10-25-2012 DB's Dailies: Aukai&Duke@RI, Buster@SC&SB, Irma@HB, UU@TB, Kekoa@RR, UU@MI, R912,RIP,Ka'ena,Kerby,Noa&RL42@KP

At 0733 I found Buster (RV08) doing 4 minute dives at Spitting Cave. Unfortunately, I only saw him for 2 ups. That would not be the last word from Buster. At 1031 a posse member called to advise of an animal newly arrived at the east end of Sandy Beach. When I arrived at 1041 I found Buster (RV08) snuggled up to a coconut. He would remain the rest of the day.

At 0937 I found Duke (RA12) on the water front rocks to the right side of Seal Rock Inlet on Rabbit Island.

At 0940 another animal moved up from behind the rocks just behind Duke. It would prove to be Aukai (RL12). Both remained there the rest of the day.

At 1130 Jack at the Bay called with the report of a lolling animal in the near shore waters to the left side of Hanauma Bay. When I arrived at 1145 I found Irma (R010) newly hauled out to the left side of the bay, just where the sand ends and the left side rock flats begin . Jack and I got a cordon up, and Irma has remained the rest of the day. Ya' Done Good Jack !!

Dera called at 1130 with the report of an animal at or near Right Spot's Spot at Turtle Bay. Dana checked in at 1457 to advise that no ID had been possible by the responding volunteer.

Dera called again at 1440 to advise that Eileen had reported Kekoa (RK72) at the Reef Runway.
At 1510 Ocean Safety called with the report of an animal newly arrived at Magic Island. Colleen's (and my) pal Rachel responded and confirmed the Rocky (RH58) ID at 1630.

Zeeny marched to the end of the world today, and reported finding R912 on the hike in to Ka'ena Point from the Mokuleia side. The spot was the same as on previous days. She later moved closer to KP, Z advised. At the point, in the morning, she found RIP (RR70), Ka'ena (RO40), Kerby (RW08), Noa (R6FI), and at noon, RL42 arrived.

Though no RL54 was seen today but TB volunteers, I offer up a piece of video that Vera Cober shot of RL54 yesterday. Just imagine her another day older.
Buster - shake and bake
Irma @ Hanauma Bay -  wonder if anyone thought Irma was a fallen rock.
