Happy Seal Count Day !!! Dana's end of day count was 12 for Oahu, but of course there were late arrivals as usual.

At 0802 posse member Laura called with the report of an animal at Irma's. When I arrived at 0810 I found Irma (R010). I cordoned her off and Gayle would report her departure around 1815.

At 1054 Cianna called with the report of a newly hauled out animal at Sandy Beach. When I got there at 1105 I found Buster (RV08). I cordoned him off, and I would find that he had departed on my 1809 check.

Stacey Stella, covering Zone #11 on the count , called at 1105 to report an animal swimming and foraging off shore of Kaiona Beach Park in Waimanalo, an proceeding in a Makai Pier direction. I met her on the roadside between the last Waimanalo houses and the pier. We were joined by Marilyn and Lesley, and all four of us watched Nani (RK60) just off shore swimming in a pier direction, and foraging along the way. She would swim to and under the pier and proceed on toward Kaupo Beach Park, with Lesley following. Lesley reported her turning out to sea, in an RI direction at 1238. Nani would haul out at RI at 1339.

The Ka'ena Point trek would be done today by Vera Cober coming from the west side, and Larry and Jean coming from the Mokuleia side. Between the pair the KP cast would prove to be Kerby (RW08) just in from the Yokes side trail head, and then RL42 , Noa (R6FI), Ka'ena (RO40), Benny (RE74) at the end of the world.

An email from Karen Bryan advised that KC (RK28) was at MCBH today.

An 1809 call from Cianna advised of an aimal at Magic Island, or there abouts. No further info, but my dollar is definitely on Rocky.

Hard is at is to believe, Team Billand had only a swimmer/forager U/U off shore of Germaine's Luau grounds at Campbell Industrial Park. Who'da thunk !
