2-16-11 DB Dailies

The NOAA team was ready....I was on it as usual, but RIP never got the email I guess. He was a No-Show today. The Rabbit Island cast was Sadie, and little brother Duke today. They had the place all to themselves.

Dera called at 1215 with the report of an animal in Hauula. Lesley and Diane were just finishing up an Ua Malie Quest at Turtle Bay (nobody found), and responded to Hauula. They confirmed R5AY at 1316. Thank Youuuu !!!!

At 1413 Team Billand called to report RO28 at Maili Point to to everybody's surprise, 6FI just 20 ft down the beach. You may remember that he was last seen on 1-3 and 1-5-11 at Campbell Industrial Park (by the Billands), where he received his N30 bleach, and his 6FI/J tags.
At 1531 Team Billand found Irma on Kermit's Reef , on the west side of the Nimitz jetty. She would depart at 1730.

Posse member Jen Christian called at 1520 to say that husband Jeff had called her about an animal at the Shooting Range in Ewa Beach. Team Billand responded and though its usually Irma,Rocky or Ewa Girl, to our shock and awe it turned out to be T21M (aka 4DJ). The ol' dude had last been seen in November by Diane Pike of Molokai fame, happily rotting (molting) on Molokai (T21M......not Diane) . Ya' jus' never know where this ol' dude is gonna' pop up next (T21M... not Diane).  DB you're such a tease... diane pay no attention to that man behind this blog *wink*wink*
Speaking of Diane , she sent photos from yesterday's trek showing RA50 and Makaiwi. Thank Youuuuu Diane !

Posse member Toni Russ called at 1703 to advise of another animal in Ewa Beach. Her photos definitely confirm a verrrrrrry phat Rocky !

Team Billand called to say that after Irma departed there was another seal swimming around as though looking for her. At 1753 Robert called to say that R018 had just hauled out to Kermit's Reef.

Sadie and little brother Duke looking very similar in size
Rocky looking phat... going to be another pup this year
And the starz of the day.... thank you Diane Pike...  MAKA'IWI and little A50. So good to see Maka'iwi closer to home (well at least our home)... looks like she is reaching up to hug A50.  They are just too cute and so relieved they are both healthy.
Look at how cute... (looks a bit like Makana)
