I received this update via email from our dear friends on Molokai... Its nice to receive some news about our little friend. HOPEFULLY we can get some pictures at some point. ~donna~
Ho'ailona Update:
Ho'ailona is doing extremely well. He continues to gain weight and is now 67.0 kg (147.4 lbs). He has also expanded his pallet to eat mackerel. His behavior repertoire continues to grow and he is learning how to extend how long he performs each behavior he knows. Overall, Hoa is learning by leaps and bounds. He continues to be very inquisitive of his environment and the enrichment we provide for him.

The seal's name is Ho'ailona. Not Hoa. It would be nice if someday the people at NOAA would tell the people on Moloka'i how he's doing. The kids miss him and wonder if he's okay.
