Whew !!! Monk Seals were everywhere today. The Oahu, DB's World recorded for most animals in a single day, is 13. Today we came close with 12.
The Rabbit Island cast was 7 critters today, with RB08 at the left end, by herself, and then a gang of 4 , close together near 3BS, up in the Morning Glory. They would prove to be RIP, Buster, R301 and Sadie. Mojo was by himself on the water front rocks at the right end of the beach, and then late in the day Kolohe hauled out to the rubble cove at the far right end of the beach.
Tracy called mid morning to report that Right Spot was up at the Gas Chambers surf spot on the North Shore.
The Billands called multiple times to report first , Irma at White Plains, and then Kermit at Kalaeloa Campgrounds. Then came a call to say that Benny was hauling out to join Kermit, but he stayed only a short while, only to reenter the water and swim down do White Plains to join Irma .
Posse member Ethel, called to report an animal on the left side flats at Hanauma Bay. When I got there I found that Ewa Girl had returned. She had last been at HB on 1-2-09 , having spent the intervening days in the Campbell Industrial Park area. It was good to have her home again. Aloha, DB
