The much anticipated and hyped OMG!!!!!! Front !!! came and went with a THUD in my world. It was certainly not worth bringing the islands government and school systems to a halt for. It rained alittle . In the wonderful world of Monk Seals, the critters had the perfect day. Cool and wet, and hardly any of those "leggers" on the beach to bother them.
I found M38 at the right end of the beach at Rabbit Island at 0915. He had the place all to himself for most of the day. I had to stop observations when RI disappear in the mists around noon, but did and afternoon check and during a brief episode of visibility at 1343 I found that RIP had joined M38. When the island disappeared again at 1420, I called it a day.
Colleen Heyer called around 1245 to excitedly tell me that when she stepped out into her backyard at Diamond Head, she found Rocky at the mouth of the culvert that runs along side her house. Rocky knows the location well, having done a few days of her last year's molt in Colleen's Culvert.
Team Billand checked in from the SW quadrant with two reports. First they reported Kermit at Oneula Beach Park (Ewa Beach), at 1310, and then at 1348 called in again with the report of Irma , also in Ewa Beach, near Oneula Place.
I recieved late, email word from Tracy that RO30 (Rosie), was at MCBH today. Aloha, DB
