My first pass through the SE quadrant was a bust. When I got back to the pier at 0847 I was met by two of the hardcore, everyday fishermen, who gleefully told me that 0800 an animal swam around the Waimanalo end of the breakwater, under the pier, and headed off in a Makapuu direction. I hate it when that happens !!! I rechecked every inch of accessible water front from the pier to Sandy Beach, but found nobody .

When I got back to the pier at 1000 I found a suspicious looking, partially visible rock, near the cliff and amongst the vegetation at the right end of the beach. At 1007 the rock did a hind flipper flex and should it's 2 red tags. At 1108 Kolohe's transmitter came into view. At 1230 Kolohe moved down to the water front rocks to cool off and remained there the rest of the day. He had Rabbit Island all to himself today.

Team Billand went absolutely nuts today. At 0934 it was 2AW at Tracks, then at 1003, Benny at White Plains, followed at1035 with Kermit on the Barber's Point side of the Nimitz Jetty, and then Irma at the Last Bench, Kalaeloa Campgrounds, and finally, Ewa Girl at the Palm Grove, at Campbell Industrial Park. Aloha, DB

Look at sweet face Irma. Thanks so much for all the photos and updates. For those of us chained to a desk all week, it's lovely to see the seals and know they're being watched over by such amazing and dedicated people.
