There was another bumper crop of critters lounging around out on Rabbit Island . At the left end where Buster and RB08, and down at the right end RIP, R301 and M38 were just right of the 3BS. Little Kolohe was doing his rock pose most of the day, but when the rock did a hind flipper flex, showing red tags, I knew I was on to something, and shortly thereafter he began his march to the sea, and his transmitter and bleach mark were clearly visible.
The Billands checked in at 1000 with the report of Kermit at the Wind Sock, Kalaeloa Beach, and called again at 1040 to say that Irma was in the process of hauling out to join him there.
Irma & Kermit

We were watching a seal floating about the water yesterday at Camp Grounds. It had made three attempts to haul up,but people seem to walk out at the wrong times with cell phone photography and the seal just kept moving on and further away.We kept following it as we had to know, who was that creature? We couldn't see markers at all.Well, we came upon a seal we didn't expect..Kermit, comotosed at Windsock. We continued on our search for the unknown seal. On our 2nd or 3rd check at Windsock, there was the seal we had followed for over an hour..The royal lady..Irma. But..she didn't land next to Kermit her honey. Instead, she slowly galumphed to the other sandy spot.Guess Kermit and Missy Irma had a spat. But good ole Kermit kept watching her with one eye now and then. Irma just gave him the cold shoulder. She looked sassy out there and I might add lookiing mighty fat again. Hmmm.
