When I pulled into the Makapuu Overview at 0702 and peered down onto the beach I found a suspicious lookin' rock at the base of the hill leading down to the beach at Makapuu. When I got down onto the beach I found Irma in all her radiant N3ness. I hadn't seen her since our all too brief encounter at Hanauma Bay in the wee hours of 12-2-10. I got her cordoned of and she has remained at Makapuu all day. Irma departed at 1826. I picked up the stuff and called it a day at 1830.

When I got to Makai Pier at 0735 I found Buster up in the grass behind Seal Rock Inlet at the right end of the beach on Rabbit Island. On a pan at 1253 I realized that I'd missed

Kolohe , also up in the grass, 70 ft right of 3BS. I'm sure he'd been there all along, but I just didn't see him until the lighting improved. On a pan at 0828 I found Duke , just hauling out to the left end of the beach. When I got back to Makai Pier after an Irma check, at 1017 I found that Mojo was back home for a visit. He had joined Buster and Kolohe. The gang of 3 were all together, 80 ft right of 3BS, near the water line. The RI cast would remain there all day.

Team Billand reported Benny, once again fronting #1707 at White Plains.  At 1040 they found a 60% molted 2AW at Tracks.

At 0718, from Makai Pier, I found what would prove to be Duke, 30 ft left of 1BS, and Kolohe, 70 ft right of 3BS, on Rabbit Isand. Despite lots of miles and lots of trudging on the Irma Quest, those would be the only two critters in my life today.

Team Billand reported Benny at White Plains at 0623. He would be joined by Kermit at 1102. Ewa Girl would check out the boyz at 1147 but then hauled out by herself fronting #1760 at White Plains.

Tracy called at 1423 to advise that she had bleached Ewa Girl with an N2 bleach on the left shoulder. That will help alot since most of her markers are on the right side. She would also confirm that Benny's D#3 molt is 50%.

The Billands called with the report of RO28 at Guard Rails Beach, Maili Pt, at 0914. 

Dera called at 1007 with the report of an animal at Laniakea on the NS. She advised that Todd White was responding. Dana called at 1056 to advise that Todd had confirmed the KC ID. Since she was seen a few flipper flaps away on Police Beach on 12-1-10 the ID is not surprising. You can find Todd's shots athttp://www.northshoremonks.blogspot.com/

"Jack at the Bay" called at 0618, reporting Irma on the beach at the right end. She was close to the place she hauled out on her last HB visit on 11-15-10. I humped by big ol' butt down there with the stuff, and she departed 2 minutes after my arrival. Despite tons of driving and lots of walking on the Irma Quest, I did not see her again today. Tomorrow ????

On my 0904 Spitting Cave check I found Kolohe for the 4th consecutive day. He was doing 7 minute dives. At 0929 I suddenly became aware that there were now 2 animals there. The other one would prove to be Buster. Dive times were random once play became involved.

Team Billand checked in at 0837 to report Benny fronting #1707 at White Plains. His molt is proceeding rapidly.

The Billands reported Ewa Girl fronting #1705 at Nimitz Cottages at 0934. She would be joined by Kermit at 1207.

The first order of business was to check Sandy Beach at 0600, and there I found Right Spot waiting for me, right where I'd left her last night. I redid the cordon, and she remained all day, departing of her own volition at 1803. This was the 3 day/2 night package.

The Rabbit Island crew for today was Sam to the left of 1BS, and Buster at the right end of the beach at Seal Rock Inlet. Both would move down and remained all day.

On my Spitting Cave check at 0816 I found Kolohe doing 6 minute dives.

Team Billand had a bumper croppa' critters at White Plains today. Firstly it was Benny at #1707 at 0758. Then later , at 0859 Ewa Girl hauled out further down the beach, fronting #1944. Lastly, Kermit chose to haul out with Benny, and of course they had words, but ultimately settled down.

In all the time I've known Benny he has always been a February molter. This year, for reasons known only to Benny, he started today !

Morning walker posse member Carol, called at 0812 to report an animal to the right of the path at Diamond Head. Colleen responded and confirmed that it was Irma. The girl did two weeks in the SE quadrant and then goes back to the SW quadrant for 5 days, and then returns to Diamond Head. I suspect tomorrow will be an Irma Quest day for me, but Only Irma Knows !
