11/1/2010 Maka iwi still on the Big Island

Aloha-
Just a quick update on Makaiwi. She is still on the Big Island and has spent the last several days feeding north of Kailua. But for Halloween she took a quick trip to South Point.

At 0657 I found Kolohe at Spitting Cave doing 8 minute dives.

My first look at Rabbit Island had been a bust, however when I got back to Makai Pier at 0800, I found Buster at 1BS, and Duke at the right end of the beach at Seal Rock Inlet (SRI). "The Bleach Boyz" did a mission to RI, with Chad as the jet ski pilot. Mark got a new N18 on the left side , posterior of Duke. Since Buster will begin his molt any second now, there was no need to bleach him.

Team Billand reported Kermit at White Plains at 0625. At 0720 the found Irma at Kalaeloa Campgrounds. She would relocate to Wind Sock at 1215.

At 0945 they found Rocky at Iroquois Point. At 1305 they found 4DJ, also at Iroquois Point, but in a separate location from Rocky.

Afternoon email from Karen Turner brought shots of Right Spot on the Kahuku side of Kahuku Point, as well as word of no Ua Malie sightings today.
