February 1, 2026 Sunday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

In yesterdays news department Marilyn trekked Ka'ena Point with two friends. They came across three seals at the Main Pool.
Just as they arrived a seal that had been on the rocks near the Main Pool entrance was washed off the rocks by a big wave and he then moved to the edge of the rubble beach between the two seals that were already there. The new arrival was R330 Squinty. He was ID'd by his male belly and 3CB tag.
The other two seals were:
RW02 PvKauai: adult male, medium gray male belly and at least one red tag.
The other seal was RG40 Holokai: adult male, gray male belly, natural bleach on inside of rear flipper.
The seal were partially hidden behind the rubble berm that had build up. There were lots of hikers visitng the point so they did lots of outreach and crowd control. Not too long before they left, the seals finally started moving in the shallows. There was a small amount of vocalization among the seals, but no major spats.

In todays news Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:35 to 2:15 pm. There was only one seal seen during her viewing session.
Initially out on the rock flats Lanikai side of LPB was an Adult Male: adult size, medium gray male belly, no info on tags. At 1:26 pm Marilyn saw that the seal was no longer on the rock flats and she found and adult seal just outside the LPB surge channel. She assumes this is the same seal. He appeared to have a scar on his left rear side.

When Team R&B got to the area, they saw from afar two seals on shore at electric beach. The they saw there was another further up.
One of the seals was RL08 and the other was RH32 Kaale. They know the third seal was a male but they couldn't make an ID.
Then they happen to look again from afar and now see a young green seal hauling up to the right of the three boys. It was RS32, as soon as she landed, the humans came up close and personal to get their photos. The place was packed at one point Team R&B counted at least 5 dogs running around.

Lastly they were thrilled about their next find. There was their boy RK72 Kakoa Alii to the left of the rocks.   RG32 was in the middle on a separate spot. To the right was the very handsome R416.
