6/20/2017 DB's Dailies: Right Spot@Kaupo Beach Park, Aka, Aukai, RG32 & Kawena@Rabbit Island, RL42@Makua Cliffs

Sorry troops, I had an appointment yesterday, so thanks much to Team Billand and The Donna, for keepin’ ya’ blogged !

 As for today it was back in the saddle again. At 0736 upon arrival to Makai Pier I happened to look to my right toward Kaupo Beach Park, and there on the rocks running out from the pumphouse was Right Spot (R016). Notified the HMMA Hotline. She would remain mostly out on the rocks but would finally haul out to the beach near the pumphouse.

 Also at 0736 I initially found a 70% molting Aukai (RL12), 60 ft left of 1BS. She would ultimately enter the water, only to haul out later just left of Seal Rock Inlet with others.

I’d been constantly looking for floating domes in the shallow waters at the far left end of the shallows at the left end. It could actually be done occasionally, and finally at 0907 Aka actually hauled out to the beach for a days snooze.

 At 0736 I had initially seen an animal amongst the grasses behind Seal Rock Inlet. That would turn out to be RG32, but at 0819 another animal emerged from the grass right behind RG32, and lo and behold it was Kawena (RH36) right there with him. Both moved down to cool off near the water line. Aukai would later haul out to join them.

 A Team Billand text at 0951 advised that they had found RL42 at Makua Cliffs.
