At 0933 she would be joined by Nani (RK60). At 1004 Duke (RA12) arrived to join the girls. He pestered Aukai into the water at 1100, and he followed her, only to haul out again to rejoin Nani at 1104. I did not see Aukai again.
Diver posse member Paul called at 0815 to advise that he had encountered an adult male during his first dive. The animal gave him a “whup” and moved away. Paul could provide no further info. He would call again at 1147 to advise that he had seen what he thought to be the same animal on his 3rd dive. Again , no info. Photos were inconclusive.
Team Billand checked in at 0709 to advise that they had found 2 wallows at Nanakuli , and witnesses said there had been 2 animals there earlier.
They checked in again at 0821 to advise that they were following a swimming head, thought to be M&M in the White Plains area, but she never hauled out. They lost her at 1015.
The Billands called at 1428 with word that Laurie D., had reported an animal at Maili Beach Park. When they arrived they confirmed the Pohaku (RO28) ID.
Marilyn did the Ka’ena Point trek solo today. At 1035 she reported having found Temp402, a 100% molted RL42, RK36&Ka’ena (RO40). On her way out at 1131 she reported that the RK36 and RL42 were gone, however she did find RW02.
