7/7/2014 DB's Dailies: U/U@BH, Pua&Sadie@RI, Kaiwi@CW, Benny&Pohaku@Makaha, Kolohe@Maili Pt, Haupu@WP, Meli&La'akea@TB

At 0921 I found an U/U, adult sized animal with 2 red tags, doing 11 minute dives at the Blowhole Lookout. The animal was gone on my 1117 recheck. My guess was Buster, but without a follow on Sandy Beach haul out I have no real idea whom it might have been.

 At 1132 I found Pua (RF34) at the left end of the island .

 On a 1746 recheck I found that Sadie (RB12) was now also at the left end.

 At 1151 Gayle called with the report of Kaiwi (RK96) at China Walls. Her excellent photos confirm that ID.

 Dana called at 0620 with the report of 2 animals at the Makaha Surfside Condos.

Team Billand confirmed the Benny (RE74) & Pohaku (RO28) at 0646. Mahalos to Laura and Debbie. 

At 1009 the Billands found Kolohe (RW22) at Maili Point today.

 At 1027 Team Billand reported Haupu (RB24) at Lani’s, KoOlina. Diane T reported her departure at 1405. Mahalos to Diane T & Mary Jo.

 Late afternoon email from Diane G brought wonderful news. She and Lesley did the upper east side trek and found La’akea (RK82) at Hanaka’ilio Beach, Turtle Bay, and for the 1st time since 6-12-14 they found Meli (RF20) at the Elbow, Kaihalulu Beach, TB.

 Gary Langley once again came through with more Rocky & Pup shots from yesterday. They were joined by weaner, F22, and RW02, the horny male still hangin’ around the Moms.
