At 0600 we found Irma & Pup (R010)(D#10) high on the beach, mid SPZ, in snooze mode. From 0620-0629 they did a feed, and at 0633 began the galumph to the sea. From 0654-0854 they did a 2 hr swim session in the high tide, tide pool. The would haul out and do a feed, while still staying wet from 0901-0920. They were in snooze mode when our shift ended at 1000. According to the log they did 3 more feeds through the day, and did another 1 1/2 hr swim. Of course there was ample snoozin' going on too. The visitor count was high this weekend. Easily 80 or so (and probably more) each day.
A posse member called at 1047, followed within seconds by a call from Ocean Safety, reporting an animal just hauling out to the far east end of Sandy Beach. When I arrived at 1100 I found Buster (RV08), surrounded by his adoring hordes. Once I got them back, I cordoned him off, and he has remained the rest of the day.
Team Billand checked in at 0720 with the report of RIP (RR70) & Pohaku (RO28) together at Lanikuhonua Beach, KoOlina.
MolokaiDi called with the wonnnnderful news that Oahu girl, Right Spot (R016) had given birth at Kalaupapa, Molokai, yesterday 7-13-13. Thank you Right Spot !!
At 1202 a small animal was reported at Lagoon #4, KoOlina. Team Billand confirmed the Haupu (RB24) ID at 1225. The Billands also advised of a new wound on Haupu’s right side neck. At 1552 the Billands advised that Haupu had relocated to Paradise Cove. Evening email sounds like PC is the usual Zoofest with tooooo many people.
The Billands advised that Eileen had called them at 1225 with the report of Kekoa (RK72) and little sister U’ilani (RN36) were together at the Reef Runway. (can't wait to see if they're hanging out together).
