3-22-2013 DB's Dailies:

I'd already made a rainy pass through the quadrant, and was just finding that I couldn't even see Rabbit Island, when posse member Gene called at 0706, to advise that there was a little dude at Hanauma Bay, in a location that I could not see on my first look. When I arrived at 0729 I found RA36 tucked up under the cliff at the left end of HB. I got him cordoned off, and he has remained all day. I'd last seen him on 3-17-13. I picked up the stuff at HB closing (1800). RA36 remains.

When I finally could see Rabbit Island, at 0920, I found Sadie & Pup (D#10) at the left end of the beach, and Aukai (RL12) in her cave at Seal Rock Inlet. On the water front rocks of Rocky Right Beach I found Kolohe (RW22) and Duke (RA12). All would remain the entire day.

At 0730 Team Billand reported R912 foraging off shore in Maili. She would haul out at 1151.

At 0808 Cianna called with the report of an animal at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, in Waikiki. Karen charged off to the call. Dana would confirm the Rocky (RH58) ID at 0946. Thanks to all who heeded the call.

At 0815 the Billands reported M&M (R020) at #1708, White Plains.

At 0915 they called to advise that RIP (RR70) had hauled out to join M&M.
At 0945 the Billands reported Kermit (R012) fronting #1806, Nimitz Cottages. He would be run off by partyers at 1115, but would out again at 1151.

At 0947 Team Billand reported RB24 at #1777 Nimitz Cottages .

Lesley checked in from the end of the world at1150, with the report of Ka'ena (RO40),Noa(R6FI), and Temp412(N32) at Ka'ena Point.

At 1226 Cianna report an animal just hauling out to Paradise Cove. The Billands would later confirm the Pohaku (RO28) ID.

At 1626 the Billands found Irma (R010) at Wind Sock.

A surprise guest stopped by the pier today. Ron Bloy is on his way back to is other half , Val in lovely , outback Nebraska. Hopefully, we will have Bloys in our midst in the not toooooo distant future.  This is wonderful exciting news if this really does happen!  Team Bloy is a valuable and old friend of our Hawaiian monk seals. No matter which island this duo ends up on it will be great to have them back on the islands.... Although I know Diane from Molokai would love to have them back there.  Stay tuned for more Bloy news and who knows maybe monk moments will return :-)
