July 31, 2025 Thursday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕  Also we want to wish our beloved Rocky a Happy Birthday today. I believe she turns 25 today!   

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:30 to 2:30 pm and there were four seals seen during that time. Marilyn did not that as of yesterday the Sooty Terns have landed on Rabbit Island. They were concentrated in the Middle Cliff area.

There were three seals when she first arrived, but it was dark and then

rained. When she was able to start viewing again  there were two seals at the back middle of LPB.

Weaner RU24: older weaner size and shape, yellow male belly and two red tags.

Nearby was Recent Weaner 1: chubby weaner size, shape and coloration, male belly.

At 1:15 pm, two more seals hauled onto the middle of LPB:

Recent Weaner 2: chubby weaner size, shape and coloration and male belly.

Unknown Juvenile: larger juvenile size, about 65% molted two red tags and unsure of sex. (although Marilyn thought it might be a male)

RW2 and the UJ interacted for several minutes and the UJ moved up the beach.  RW2 then headed over to RU24 and RW1.

Team R&B headed over to plains and found RH48 Lei Ola. They got a good laugh since Lei Ola took over the shower area and the lifeguards blocked it off just for her.  We love the lifeguards for taking good care of her.  

Also at plains they spotted by the cabins the lovely female from Kure Atoll, KG89 Huaki. Then they

noticed a line with a big ulua hook.  KG89 barely moved for the two hours they spent with her. The hook appears to be about 2 inches, line about 10 inches in the left corner of her mouth. They called the hotline about the hook. 

They were a little concerned for the young kids playing by the sign since the ocean was pretty rough today.  

No one came while they were there, hopefully KG89 will toss the hook on her own.

Since they weren't finding any other seals they stopped by yoks to watch the waves. They caught one amazing picture of a girl surfing a wave with fish in the wave.
