Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:35 to 2:22 pm and there were five seals seen during that time.
When Marilyn first arrived there were two seals on LPB:
Recent Weaner 1: chubby weaner size, shape and coloration with a male belly.
Unknown Juvenile: larger juvenile size, about 55% molted with a clean ventral with some new fur. Marilyn was unable to determine its sex. She believes there were two tags, and thinks this is the same U/J that she has reported for several days.
At 12:44 pm, Marilyn saw Recent Weaner 2 haul out on the rock flats on the Lanikai side of LPB. The RW2 moved further back on the flats and then on the edge of LPB. It was weaner size, shape and coloration with a male belly.
Initially among the water front rocks near the 2BS was a sub-adult male who Marilynn was able to ID as TempN25. At some point the seal moved from its original location onto the rocks in Middle Cliff. Marilyn was able to see the applied N25 bleaches. This is the first time she has knowingly seen TempN25 on Rabbit Island.
On the beach near 3BS was weaner RU38: older weaner size, and shape, light female belly and two red tags.
Team R&B were pretty tired after yesterday's tsunami scare. It's a lot of work and stressful to evacuate your home with your pets. Thankfully all was well and they made it back home late in the evening.
So they went out a little later today, initially coming up empty.
They headed over to plains and found the lovely Lei Ola RH48. She was alone on shore getting hit by the waves. It was a little rough and windy. One wave went clear pass the lifeguard stand and pass the pavilion. By 11:50 am Lei Ola had enough and headed out into the water. Team R&B left.
Then at 2:05 they got a text that she came back, but they didn't go back to check.
Their only other seal was a large male they saw at the cliffs. He was in between the rocks resting. There were no tags, scar on fore flipper and then they saw an applied bleach number N70. They knew it was R617. He seem to have a few nicks on his head area that they had not noticed before.
