July 20, 2025 Sunday's Dailies

Todays dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 12:58 to 2:32 pm and there were seven seals seen during that time.
Again on LPB were the moms and pups:
Initially RL12 Aukai and her pup PO12 (hidden behind mom) were alone on LPB. But almost immediately RH76 Kala and PO11 started hauling out in the direction of RL12 and Aukai was not happy and she vocalized. Then Kala vocalized back at Aukai in trying to protect her pup. Then Kala and pup reentered the water. Aukai and PO12 moved
up the beach. A short time later Kala and PO11 hauled out further up the beach and galumphed to what looked like close proximity to Aukai and PO12, but there were not more interactions. Then both pups nursed and everyone went into snooze mode. This is the first altercation Marilyn has witnessed between the two moms even though the moms and pups have seemed in close proximity.
At Middle Cliff, Weaner RU24 was snoozing on the slope. He showed his weaner size and shape, two red tags, and his male belly.
Down from 3BS was a  Juvenile Female: larger juvenile size, yellow
female belly and two red tags. At 1:39 weaner RU38 hauled out to the JF and they had some mild interactions. RU38 was ID'd  by her weaner size and coloration, two red tags and light female belly. About 2 pm, she headed for the waterr and ultimately enticed the JF to join her. They played for some time in the nearshore water then Marilyn lost sight of them.

Team R&B got word that a seal landed at Plains so they headed out to check. There were tons of people on the beach. And they were happy to see there were two seals.  Lei Ola RH48 is now 99% molted and
looking great. She just has old fur on her face and left fore flipper.  And to  her right was another seal, who was smaller than Lei Ola and a new coat. It was a female with some scars on left side of her face. They didn't know who this could be until.... they saw one of the tags was gray! It was KG89 Huakai!
They could see her ribs, maybe she recently weaned a pup somewhere.  Other than being a little thin she looks beautiful and seemed extremely tired, in that she hardly moved.
She also has a scar on her left hip area, like an X.  Scars under her left
fore-flipper. Needless to say Team R&B was very excited to see her again.

Team R&B searched all the usual spots for seals, but other than RH48 & KG89 they didn't find any others.  They even stopped where they saw RN14 yesterday in hopes he would be back, but no luck.  However they did see a few turtles, and while there a forth one landed.
