July 14, 2025 Monday's Dailies

Todays' dailies are brought to you by Marilyn and Team R&B💕

Marilyn viewed Rabbit Island from 1:06 to 3:13 pm and there were five seals seen during that time. Although Marilyn did not see either of the weaners today.  Maybe they were off exploring together.
On LPB were the moms and pups, Marilyn could not determine the IDs of the moms so they are being labeled Mom and Pup 1 and Mom and Pup 2.
When Marilyn first starting viewing she only saw Mom and Pup 1 on LPB. The pup was partly hidden behind mom, but later was seen nursing for an extended period.
Soon after Mom and Pup 2 hauled out of the LPB channel and fairly quickly moved to the back of the beach into a tide pool on the rock flats when the pup nursed. Mom and Pup 2 then entered the LPB channel again and later hauled out again, but stayed on the beach.
The molting Adult Female started out among the waterfront rocks near 2BS, but at 1:29 pm, she hauled out near the 3BS. Her molt looks to be about 75%, a lot more than yesterday. Her ventral is all new fur. She still has large patches of fur on her dorsal side. Marilyn believes she has two red tags.
Marilyn has been watching multiple Masked Boobies on the outer rim of RI crater. Today there were two pairs of Masked Boobies that appeared to be participating in mating/breeding behavior. So far Marilyn hasn't seen any chicks.

Team R&B had a slow seal day. Their only find today was Lei Ola RH48 at plains. She was alone today resting on shore. They could see some tiny spots of her molt starting.   They waited around to see if lover boy would show up, but he did not.
They did not see any other seals on their usual stops.
