7-26-2014 DB's Dailies: Kea&Buster@SB, Buster@BH, Pua&Kainoa@RI, RIP,M&M@WP, RL42@Makua Cliffs, Ka'ena&RW02@KP, La'akea@TB

At 0540 I found an over nighted Kea (RN46)at Sandy Beach. I reoganized the cordon and he has remained all day.

At 0609 I found what would ultimately prove to be Buster (RV08) doing 6 minute dives. Once again when he hauled out to join Kea at SB at 1442 the Buster ID was confirmed.

At 1012 from Makai Pier I found what would prove to be Pua (RF34) & Kainoa (RN04) in a swim/play session from the Left Flats to 1BS. They never hauled out in my presence.

At 1442 posse member Jeff called to advise that Buster was just hauling out to join Kea within the established cordon. Marilyn reported at 1502 that when she arrived both were in the water, however Kea returned to the outfall, while Buster departed to the west.

Lesley called with a Hotline report of a large animal attempting to haul out at Eternity Beach at 1536, but the “Adoring Hordes” with their camera/ phones would not allow it, and it departed. There is zero doubt in my mind that it was Buster.

At 1552 the long lost Kathy Sagum called with the report of 2 animals foraging at Blowhole. I responded but we never saw anybody . Kathy said she saw 2 at the same time, and hopefully has a photo. I know her heart is good, and I believe her, but she might have OD’d on her famous Lemon Bars too. We shall see. Well we can rule out the Lemon Bars. Kathy did send a shot of 2 UU.  yum now I want some lemon bars!

Gayle called at 1818 to advise that Buster was back to the Kea site. He hung around until 1823 but did not haul out. Marilyn and I called it a day at dark. Kea remains.

Team Billand called at 0652 with the report of RIP (RR70) & M&M (R020) fronting #1708, White Plains.

At 1358 the Billands reported RL42 At Makua Cliffs. Marilyn & Lesley did the end of the world trek.

At 1025 Marilyn reported Ka’ena (RO40) at the runway, and RW02 at the main pool.

Late afternoon email from Karen Turner brought shots of La’akea (RK82) at Turtle Bay today. Thank you Karen.

The Billands are working late with RIP & M&M. Check the blog in the morning.
