I was on the road at 0630, but it would be 0936 before I found critters. On my 2nd look at Rabbit Island I found what would prove to be Duke (RA12), and an U/M with a RHF tag, 40 ft left of IBS, and Kainoa (RN04) at 3BS.

At 1055 to my surprise Kolohe (RW22) galumphed out of the Morning Glory, fronting 1BS. I’d had no clue that he was hiding in there.

At 0637 Team Billand checked in with the report of Buster (RV08) & Makaiwi (R4DF) were between #1708 & Tower#2, White Plain, and Kermit (R012) fronting #1708B. I am aware that many a volunteer was out there today. Thank you from the bottom of my little bald heart. Dana would advise that Buster departed at 1300, and the Billands advised that Makaiwi was gone at 1650.

At 0659 the Billands advised that Linda had called to advise that Benny (RE74) was at Secrets.

Marilyn, Lesley &Kimo L did the Ka’ena Pt trek today. Marilyn reported Ka’ena (RO40) & RW02 at the Main Pool, and advised that they had found RL42 on the way out, as well as Luana (RN58) at the birth beach at Mokuleia. Kimo Smith sent shots of Kerby (RW08) at KP that he got prior to the arrived of Marilyn & crew.

Linda advised that there was an animal in a tide pool at the Kokee Flats. When I arrived at 1400 I found Rocky (RH58) doing her best hippo imitation.

At 1436 Dana called about an animal at Kahuku. The critter was gone when the volunteer arrived.

At 1613 Dana called with a report of an animal at Lagoon #3, KoOlina. At 1647 she confirmed the Pohaku (RO28) ID.

At 1647 Dana reported RI37 at Waialua.

At 1722 Dana advised of an animal at Lagoon #2 , KoOlina. Awaiting further word.

Is it the way Benny is laying down in the sand that makes him look smaller and skinnier?

Yes.... more often than not the position the seal is in... how big of a wallow they are in and make it look like a skinny critter....

over the years I have placed a couple of panic calls thinking one of them was just a bag of bones...

Thanks for the questions MH !
