Jan 25, 2014 DB's Dailies: Kea@SC, RK36@TBL, Ka'ena@KP, Kermit&R012@WSK, RI37, R5AY&Pup@TB, Pohaku@Nanakuli

At 0812 I found Kea (RN46) doing 7 minute dives at Spitting Cave. After only 2 ups he moved further into Maunalua Bay. I departed at 0900. Both Gayle and Melanie did later checks but found nobody. Thanks for the miles guys !!

At 1219 Jack (at the Bay) called with the report of "4DJ" at Toilet Bowl, Hanauma Bay. When I arrived at 1248 I confirmed the RK36 ID, and took photos. Thank You Jack !

At 1403 new posse member Angie called to advise of an animal at Spitting Cave. When I arrived at 1430 I found Kea doing 6 minute dives, fronting the cave. It was "Victory at Sea" conditions. (I’m becoming more & more aware each year at whippersnappers don’t know what that means anymore. Google it. (whippersnappers - noun; a young and inexperienced person considered to be overconfident.... oh you meant "victory at sea" ) :-)

Lesley, Ken & Marilyn, accompanied by UH colleagues trekked to the end of the world today, and found only Ka’ena (RO40) at the Main Pool.

Since Team Billand had their Whale Watch hats on today, volunteers were on it. Vera called at 1109 with the report of Kermit (R012) & R912 at Wind Sock.

At 1217 Dana called to advise that volunteer Tony had done a shift with R5AY & Pup, and also found RI37 at Right Spot’s Spot, Turtle Bay.

At 1243 Ocean Safety called with the report of an animal at Nanakuli Beach Park. Team Billand confirmed the Pohaku (RO28) ID.

 Kea out at sea....
 RK36 at Toilet Bowl
 Ka'ena at Ka'ena Point
 Kermit at windsock
 R912 at windsock
Pohaku's booboo  ... out at Nanakuli
