At 0545 I was on the road. At 0600 I found Irma (R010) & Benny (RE74) together at Kaupo Beach Park. I cordoned them off and they have remained. On my dark check at 1840 they were still there, and moving up.
At 0744 I found Buster (RV08) doing 10 minute dives at Blowhole.
At 0837 Ocean Safety & Diane Tekai called to report a new arrival at Sandy Beach. When I arrived at 0946 I found Buster fronting the "Half Point" rocks. I cordoned him off, and he remains. Gayle picked up the stuff at 1720. Buster had departed.

Gayle called at 0947 advising that she had found Kea (RN46) at Crappy Cove, Sandy Beach. As soon as I was done with Buster, I went there and we cordoned Kea off. He has remained the rest of the day. Kea entered the water at 1654 and began foraging within the cove. Gayle and I lost him when he moved outside at 1754, but posse member Stacey called at 1841 to say that he was still in the shallows in the cove. I last saw him , in the dark, at 1848.

Posse member Christian sent photos of an animal at Kaimana today. I think I can barely make out a bit of her left fore flipper beach in one of his shots.
Team Billand called at 0836 to report Kolohe (RW22) and Pohaku (RO28) together at Secrets.
At 1415 Team Billand found M&M (R020) at Palm Grove, Campbell Industrial Park.

Lesley did some investigation of a report of an animal in the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor, yesterday and today. "N36" was mentioned in the call , but is that a bleach (RK36), or a tag number which would be U’ilani. Though no conclusive proof was found, a report from one of the people she spoke with called it a "big" seal, and a later report put U’ilani in Keehi Lagoon today, leaving a large possibility of the mystery animal being RK36. Tomorrow ????????

Hello, I just wanted to know if there is any news on Maka'iwi, I was glad to see that she had finally come out of the water. Did someone from NOAA get to check on her? I didn't see any information about her on Friday hope she is OK.
Hi, We did find her on the 26th,but couldnt locate her at all on the 27th. That would be the first time not seeing her on day 18, not a good feeling. But, We felt she was doing so much better on that Thursday, resting on shore. The wound on top her back, getting smaller, there was a bit of blood oozing, but ok. She did have a few of those lumps that popped and were oozing. Her whole being seemed alot better to us and NOAA did go out to check on her...they also seemed to think she is OK. That soothed my soul but I still pray for her and hope we can find her.
She has come along ways...but, I will never ever forget how we found her that Friday the 13th of September...so shocking to see her wounds and lumps on her body.
If she has continued on her journey, I wish her well...if she goes back to Big Island, I hope someone will let us know.
She is a very smart seal, how she stayed in that harbor, healing herself and later finding tako. I will never forget that day we all saw her munching on that TAKO, the greatest feeling ever!!!
I so appreciate the NOAA team coming out to Lagoon 4 that morning of the 19th of September to administer a shot of anti biotics. And to administer the first shot on Sept 16th..it helped her a great deal...THANKS GUYS.
So the day begins, the search is on for Makaiwi again..flippers crossed she is ok and going on with her life.
